Talking about the 2018 Food & Culinary Expo!

By Schiff's Food Service

The 2018 Food & Culinary Expo is a little over a week away! We sat down with General Sales Manager, Ryan Yeager, to discuss the upcoming show. See the full interview below and join us on Tuesday, May 1st from 9 am – 4 pm at Mohegan Sun Pocono in the Keystone Grand Ballroom!

What is the theme for this year’s food show?

This year’s theme is SFS Superheroes, soaring our way to success!

If someone has never been to our food show before, what can they expect?

They can expect to have fun while helping to grow their business. We are in an industry that changes rapidly and where trends come and go. We hope that everyone walks away with a few new ideas that will help them to keep up with the current trends.

What makes the SFS food show different than other food shows out there?

We are a true buying show. Our goal is for our customers to get great ideas to help them with their business, and make a little extra money doing it. There are incentives to purchase more, as well to purchase new items that are all negotiated with the suppliers at their booths. Another aspect that makes us different is the amount of time our sales representatives spend with customers both prior to and during the show to make sure that each customer can maximize their experience. Sales representatives spend a great deal of time developing a game plan for customers through their “show books” by highlighting items they think would be useful for the customer to see.

How long does it take to prepare for the food show?

The more serious preparations will start in December. However, we begin thinking about ideas for next year’s food show the day after this one is over!

What do you look forward to most about the food show?

Getting to spend time with so many customers. This is more than business. We create personal relationships and have fun doing it!
