What do you like most about your job?

The relationships that have been developed over the 37 years I have been in this occupation. I started in this field so I could get out of going to one location daily for the opportunity to be more involved and engaged. I appreciate when an operator asks my view on a new menu concept or asks me to taste a new menu item they are considering. I am honored when they respect me like that.

What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job?

Ideas to the operator, problem solving perspectives, constructive suggestions, reliability, consistency, and thoroughness.

What has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned throughout your career?

That it takes an entire team behind you to complete the sale.

What’s your favorite thing to do on weekends?

Serving the Lord and his people within my roles at my church. From coordinating all the fellowship meals and food fundraisers, serving on the Trustee board, being finance chairman and helping to enable the ministries of the church, and working in the gardens to make the church attractive to potential new followers.

What’s your favorite food/meal to eat at the holidays?

I am in this business mainly due to my love of food and the gift of hospitality the Lord has granted me. I only need one hand to count the number of foods I don’t particularly enjoy, and therefore I enjoy all the traditional holiday foods and creative new spins we can put on those old-time favorites. Food can be the great unifier between cultures. I am always game to try a new menu item and I know when I show that smile of enjoying this new taste it connects me with the person who prepared it.
