Employee Spotlight: Chris Murray

Congratulations to Chris Murray, Director of Human Resources, on 5 years with Schiff’s Food Service!

 

1. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Working with the various managers to find just the right candidate for their department and then once hired, realizing they were a perfect fit and long-term employee.  It also is rewarding when the job is a lifesaver for the applicant and their family as well.

 

2. What do you enjoy most about working with your colleagues?

The camaraderie we all have gained in the last 5 years, making it feel like we are more than just co-workers.  Also, the trust we all have in each other, knowing that we are there for each other when needed and will have each other’s backs.

 

3. What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

To never stop being “you”.  Don’t change for anyone or any job.  Your personality is your best attribute and that cannot be taught.

 

4. What’s your favorite thing to do on weekends?

Spend time with my wife and 2 sons at any Dunmore or Penn State Event, watching a good movie, or going out to a nice dinner.  In addition, hosting my whole family at our pool in the nicer weather and grilling out.

 

5. What is your all-time favorite meal?

Surf and Turf, with Lobster and Filet from SFS of course, with a side of angel hair pasta.
