Customer Spotlight: Backyard Ale House

Backyard Ale House is downtown Scranton’s premier craft beer bar and restaurant, serving hand-crafted American pub fare. They are proud to provide two full bars, one inside and one outside with a large patio. Along with a full bar and cocktail menu, you’ll find 28 rotating draft beers and over 500 bottles! Their menu has everything from house-cut chips, their signature backyard chili made with Downtown Brown Ale, and loaded fries to start. Try “Mac N Cheese Your Way”, which includes a six-cheese blend of mac n’ cheese baked in a personal casserole and topped with gold fish, prepped the way you like it. You’ll also find salads, burgers, chicken sandwiches, turkey burgers, unique plays on the “fish sandwich”, and several vegetarian options on their menu. Don’t feel like dining in? In addition to their weekly menu, Backyard Ale House is proud to serve their award winning Backyard Bloody + Beer Brunch! Every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am – 2 pm you can start your morning off right. Choose an omelet, Belgian waffle, or breakfast sandwich accompanied by a Bloody Mary or a craft draft for only $10. Brunch features change weekly so be sure to check their menu. Past tasty favorites have included dishes like the Mediterranean omelet, a s’mores waffle, cinnamon raisin French toast, and a Mexicali burrito.

Backyard Ale House offers a happy hour on weekdays from 5-7 pm. That includes $1 off your favorite craft draft, bottle or can beers, your favorite mixed drinks, and even the entire wine selection. They’re also offering a discounted happy hour food menu. For the night owls, they have a “Late Night Happy Hour” from 9-11 pm Monday, Thursday, and Friday that includes $3 Fireball shots and pounder cans. Throughout the week, you can stop by for Burgers & Buckets on Mondays, Flights & Wing Bites on Tuesdays, and Cervezas y Pollo (chicken sandwiches) on Thursdays. There’s never a shortage of things to do at Backyard Ale House with local artists playing every month and plenty of special events, both at their facility and in the community.
